Petites Bouchees Dessert Table
(please click on the pictures to activate the lightbox for more vivid display!)
I’ve hinted on a project that I have been working on for a few weeks now. Well, now it can be revealed. Petites Bouchees has ventured into the stylized dessert table business!
This idea has been percolating in my brain since last year, but it was only this year that I had the guts to go through with it.
Wedding professional consultant, Meghan Ely of OFDconsulting has been instrumental in connecting me with great vendors in the area, with whom I am so thrilled to be now working with on current and future projects.

Wedding Cake - Sweetest Thing Bakery
It’s so easy to get carried away with a first project, but I wanted to pay tribute to the lovely wallpaper I first laid eyes on in an adorable pastry shop in San Francisco called Miette. I couldn’t not include a candy station for which Miette is also known for and their macarons were the first ones I tried that got me hooked on these little Parisian confections.

Wallpaper Shortbread cookies
I was lucky that they made the wallpaper cookies that matched the backdrop (yes, I’m going to use the “wallpapered” structure somewhere in my house after this project) - whimsical hydrangeas and starburst floral patterns - so I mailordered them to make an appearance on my very first dessert table.

Peadee Pops by Flour and Iced
I won’t deny that this has been a learning experience - I think I’ve spent enough time at Michael’s and on the internet sourcing paper and crafting ideas to bring into the dessert table. Many times, I thought my head would burst thinking of all the little details that need to be done. Sometimes they just fall into place and sometimes you just have to accept that the tarts and buttermilk panna cottas have no room on your little (or big)scheme of things. It’s picking and choosing and always remembering that there is always that next dessert table.

A little candy station- I just adore the lollipops

Dainty cupcakes
And of course, how can we forget the macarons?

Love love love the table! Looks terrific and I love the concept! Beautifully done! What would I want to see??? I think something with fruit, maybe? Especially for summer…little cherry tarts, macerated fruits, mini pavlovas w/ berries, bowl of ice with little cups of sorbet…? Also, Roshan and Dale photographed our wedding ELEVEN years ago! How cool!
How absolutely lovely and creative. I loved the colors and the concept. Some things to add – tiny tarts of various sorts and herbed chocolate truffles (lavender comes to mind).
I adore the table! Everything looks amazing!
Very pretty! Some things I would like to see are maybe some little shortbreads, and in the summer I just love pavlovas!
Congrats! You did a wonderful job and I love how beautifully you chronicled it all. You said, “…sometimes you just have to accept that the tarts and buttermilk panna cottas have no room on your little (or big)scheme of things. It’s picking and choosing and always remembering that there is always that next dessert table. ” Those are great words to live by for a dessert buffet designer!
How fabulous! I would love to see mini cheese cakes or petit fours.
Congratulations on your launch into this new and exciting area. You’re going to do great and the table is beautiful. I suspect there will be many more magnificent tables to come. It was so incredibly thoughtful of you to pay homage to Miette. Have they seen this?
BTW I don’t wish to be included in the giveaway. It’s not that it’s not a fabulous gift -because it is- but we’ve recently been a house spree and I’d rather see the gift go to someone who could really make good use of it.
Congrats again! Sounds like you made a wonderful choice!!
Gorgeous! um… I like brownies… can’t get enough of them!
Everything looks so beautiful! I’d almost feel guilty eating any of it. I’d love to see a return of multilayered & decorated petit fours.
I would love to see chocolate truffles or lemon bars.
Would love to see petit fours and pate de fruits!
The dessert table needs something with fresh fruit. Mini-pies, dipped strawberries, etc.
Congratulations!! Veron!! Yay!
I loved this post. Everything looks so beautiful and delicious! I’d love to see something with fruit and some sort of cream/yogurt. My daughter is on a special diet for her autoimmune illnesses and I’m limited to what I can make her for dessert. I made a peach sorbet with blueberry sauce yesterday (using just peaches, bananas, a little honey and blueberries).
What an exciting venture, I love to see all the lovely variations on dessert tables that are out there. I love a table that has a variety of different types of treats that tie together by color or shape, liked dipped pretzle rods and rock candy.
Let’s see – I would love to see tiny cream puffs, penny size cookies, and lots of funny shaped licorice.

I’d love to see cream puffs, mini baguette and croissant.
What a gorgeous sight, just too pretty to eat. An addition of something chocolate (like brownies or truffles) or something creamy (like cheesecake) would be great.
Congratulations on your growing business, from the looks of it, it will be a success.
That table is so beautiful! What an array of irresistibly divine treats! A-ma-zing!
Cheers,
Rosa
How about little mousse verrins? That would be super special.

I had a Venetian Table (dessert tables) at my wedding. Love. Love. Love. Your coloring and design is nice.
I think you need your Chocolate Sablé and plain tea cookies like shortbread. Dipped fruit is always nice. Or fruit with dipping sauces available. Also, at wedding, you won’t want the cake to be the centerpiece on the table (to many people knocking around it. To hard for the cutting and photos). How about a fruit/ or cheese topiary.
Beware of too much cake. Cupcakes, cake pops and wedding cake.
So beautiful! I love seeing all of the fancy bites especially the wallpaper-inspired cookies!
Wow – the dessert treats and photos look like something that should be in a magazine. Beautiful! I echo previous comments about adding items that are fruit-related and/or more chocolate pieces (perhaps bite-size items like fudge, truffles, etc). Salted caramel pieces came to mind too.
Looking forward to seeing more of your tables in the future!
White Chocolate Dipped Strawberries!
Wow! Loving all the suggestions! Keep them coming. I do agree, the table needs something fruity!
This is so beautiful! And congratulations! I think my suggestions would be: chocolate dipped shortbread cookies (cookies piped with a star tip so they have some shape and texture), white chocolate covered strawberries and little petite fours (like opera cake cut into bite sized portions, dulce de leche mini cheesecakes, mini apple tarts with frangipane filling…. mmm I’m making myself hungry here).
On dessert tables, I love the combination of salty sweet so chocolate dipped pretzels, a jug of sweet pink lemonade, and even M&Ms. I also love a variety of cookies, petite brownies or cream puffs, and jars full of candy with take-home bags for guests as favors.
Oh my goodness, this is so beautiful!! I wish you were located closer to my area for my eventual wedding
I would love to see lemon and lime bars… But those cake pops are totally amazing!
My first thought was fresh fruit!
We definitely need more chocolate.
Another one on the fruit end! Some of the garnishes you could make would really make the table feel lush. I can’t separate not being able to eat gluten from my suggestions, though, so fruit and truffles are always going to be at the top of my list.
Some lovely pannacotta topped with fresh berries!
Truffles. Chocolate is always good.
Congrats on the new business. That table looks great!!
I think petite fruite tarts would be a great addition!
I love the Gumballs on your dessert table! But I must say if I had to put anything on a Dessert Table from you it would be your fanciers, I have fancied them myself for awhile
And the CB card would be much appreciated for a struggling pastry intern spending what little money she has perfecting her baking skills.
Love the display!
Marshmallows? Or maybe some Pate de Fruit?
The table is a delight to look at. I’d love to see bread pudding and fresh fruit tarts on the table
Considering I’m going to be making some of the table items for Veronica I don’t think I qualify for the giveaway…So far as adding my comment, I wrote a blog article about marshmallows that’s going up next week, and you know that I second the truffles idea! My cookie cutter is all ready to go, too!
Wow !!! How stunning! I might just have to get married, myself! My request for the dessert table would be mini fruit tarts.
i think light and fluffy marshmallows, especially strawberry, would be a perfect addition to a dessert table.
One of my favorite things on a dessert table is baklava! Mmmm, so good.
Wow, I love your dessert table! I am too in love with the making of dessert table, it’s stressing and rewarding at the same time
. Mini bite-size cheesecake is usually around, truffles, and I usually include at least one verrine in petite dessert glasses.
Petit-fours! They’re dainty, portable, pretty, and, while a bit labour-intensive, worth the effort because everyone oohs and aaahs over them.
cheesecake! with fruit on top!
Congratulations, what a beautiful dessert table Veron! Donuts (or donut holes), whoopie pies, verrines, cream puffs, truffles, and tartelettes would all work.
