Dots Cupcake in Pasedana, California just came out with the most adorable calendar of this much-loved sweet. I think I am in the grips of a very bad case of cupcake fever and ordered more than I needed. As a result, I have two calendars to give away and what's better than to give them to readers of this blog! I was going to wait for a relevant cupcake post but as calendars do have a sort of shelf life I decided not to wait any longer. The calendar is the size of a CD case and is perfect to put on your desk.

Hmmm, why do I like cupcakes? Portion control, that's why. Also they can be wrapped and individually frozen. Have a great chocolate and zucchini cupcake recipe from Penzy spices that is truly to die for. Keeping them frozen – out of site out of mind. Not really, this is chocolate we are talking about! Then I discovered how good they are frozen! Now I relie on good old fashioned will power.

Cupcakes are the perfect size – big enough that you get a couple of mouthfuls but small enough that it's easy to say, OK, just one.
They are a fun combination where the icing is as important as the dough and you can sneak in a third flavour by putting a spoonful of lemon curd or custard in the centre. Perfect!

ahh, i love cupcakes because they are so cute, especially the teensy bite sized ones! they also come in so many varieties and are pretty simple to make. oooh ahhh vegan red velvet is my favorite.
What's not to love? They're portable, sweet and yummy! I'm particular to loads of sugar icing, not butter cream.
