No…not the super-secret spy agency but the Culinary Institute of America. I am pretty worn out right now but I promise to give a report of the day to day activities of the French Cuisine Boot Camp that I am enrolled in. We’re up pretty bright and early. Lecture starts at 7 a.m. – yes 7 a.m. ! (Actually orientation was at 6 a.m. this morning).
Our topics include :
Day 1: Northwest France
Day 2: Northeast France
Day 3: Southeast France
Day 4: SouthWest France (my favorite)
Day 5: Classical French Cuisine
It’ll probably take me a few weeks to get it all together so stay tuned….!

Wow!
Lucky you!!!
and enjoy every single drop of butter!!!!
There are very few things that get me out of bed before 8am, so I definitely admire your dedication:)
How cool that you have become an agent of the CIA! I can't wait to hear about your experiences!
I am positively green with envy, Sis. I can't wait to hear your stories! Kick some French food arse, my love!
xoxo
So excited about your adventure! Have a great time and looking forward to hearing about all the great things you'll be making!
How exciting! I had a feeling that with your love for foie gras and confit, you would like the southwest course. I am from the southeast, Provence but my brother has adopted Toulouse and the area for 10 years now ans swears by it.
Have fun!
oh nice. Exciting! I cannot wait to hear about it!
I'm sure it will be very informative. Yes, culinary school is always early…yuck
Fun stuff, but I am sure very hard work. Can't wait to see what you learn!
That's so exciting! Can't wait to read all about your culinary adventures.
How exciting! That is definitely worth an early morning wake up call, heehee
Looking forward to reading all about it!
Lucky, Lucky, Lucky girl you! How fabulous! These should be interesting stories!!

Green with envy! Hope you have lots of fun (and some sleep too), can't wait to hear yr stories.
Wish we had culinary schools like that here in the Netherlands…
It was an incredible week! Learned a lot. Had a wonderful chef as an instructor and an amazing group of foodies as fellow boot campers. The whole group was incredible…so much fun and so passionate about food.
Oh..and Helene I think I'm switching to the southeast as a favorite…
I haven't written a single thing down so I am going to depend on my memory and the course manual to document the experience…
Wow! Looking forward to hearing more about your classes.
It was an absolutely amazing week! What a great experience and the people in the class made it fun also. The instructor was not only knowledgeable but extremely funny and fun to work with. As it stands, I'm definitely a go for another boot-camp. I agree with my wife on favorite region. We love Provence style of French food!
What a great experience! I'll try to come back and see what you learned about French cooking. I love what all of the regions have to offer, although like others, I have a special fondness for Provençal and Niçois cooking…
I am glad you like to go and learn about yours and my favorite thing “food”. Learn a bunch and come and share it with us. We will be waiting.
