you're my savior! i am partway into a weekend croissant/morning bun cooking extravaganza and just realized i'm missing the final pages of the tartine croissant dough recipe (5 pages of instructions is a LOT). that said, your blog has come to the rescue and now I know how to finish my dough (if I ever make it that far).
Thank you!!!

My wife worked so hard last weekend. It was like a workout. She would never get out of bed this early on a weekend. Now I know what motivates her to wake up that early. I'll hold a croissant next to her nose to get her out of bed from now on! ... the croissants are great and very tasty and satisfying...I'll roll the dough next time!

This was fun!! I loved the post and all you croissant adventures.
Your croissants look beautiful and flaky, if only I could have one... or four... :D

Fascinating post. I love the cross-baking project. It's group cooking, but without the whole group being in one place. You are brave to try croissants, and you are so right -- flavor is what matters. Thanks!

Holy Cow- great effort!

I've always considered croissant making to be like sausage making... I just don't want to know.

Glad to know I have this post as a resource for when i bite that bullet (as I'll be making sausage this year!).

So you got to do the recipe write up!
I don't know what you mean about these not looking right they look perfect to me. Well layered and what more can you want if the Hungry Hubby will roll the dough for you! Such a deal.
