I thought I had commented on this one before, but I guess I just thought it... I always have the same problem trying to photograph things, it looks good on my camera and then I find flaws when I see it on the computer... that and people who try to eat the food before its picture is taken. I wouldn't have noticed the thumb print as such except that you admitted it.

Bittersweet is a great book. It looks great.
Don't you just hate when you think the photo turned out and you notice something tiny on it when you down load it. :(

Brilynn- I'm seriously thinking of having my guests who eat food from the test kitchen sign some kind of agreement that there will be know rushing of the photographer ..he..he
Peabody - Yes , I just discovered Bittersweet and I truly love it. Yeh, I hate discovering little flaws in otherwise good pictures. I guess practice makes perfect.
Stefoodie - It's the first time I heard it called Reine de Saba...but it does translate pretty good in spanish huh...

I've always made the Simcha Beck/Julia Child (definitive) version of the Reine de Saba cake... it's in a couple of Julia's books. I'd love to make both versions and compare!

I just got my dvds on Julia Child's French Chef series and I do see a demo for the Queen of Sheba. I'm sure to try that version too.

Nicely done! I made the Queen of Sheba Cake last winter and the recipe actually included finishing with a chocolate glaze of 225 grams of chocolate, 165 grams of butter and 1 tablespoon of light corn syrup melted together in a double boiler and poured over the cake. It gives the cake a dark, glossy chocolate finish. Talk about decadent ...
